Aloe Vera Leaf Juice

~ Is well known for its moisturizing, healing and anti-aging properties, all lending to its nickname "The Potted Physician!"  


Beeswax

Picture
~ Has natural antibacterial properties.  It is what creates a barrier on the skin in our healing balm, baby bum cream and sun savvy lotion.  


Borax

~ Is a naturally occuring mineral, which is used as an  emulsifier (keeps oil & water blended!), along with beeswax, in our sun savvy lotion.


Buttermilk Powder

~ Is rich in lactic acid, which is known to soften, brighten and exfoliate the skin.


Calendula

~ Is said to have antioxidant, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and regenerating properties, and has been proven to aid in wound healing.  


Citric Acid

~ Is an excellent anti-oxidant, exfoliant and can be used as part of a preservative system by altering pH levels. Naturally occuring in citrus fruits.  


Cocoa Butter

~ Has been widely used for centuries to heal and moisturize skin. Also helps reduce the formation of stretch marks during pregnancy by keeping the skin supple.


Coconut Oil

~ Is considered to be very comparable to the sebum of human skin. It can also be used on oily skin as it will not clog pores.  Moisturizes, conditions and protects.  


Dead Sea Salt

~ The Dead Sea is the most saline body of water in the world with far greater concentrations of minerals than any ocean (a concentration of 32% minerals compared to other seas, holding approximately 3%). Bromides and Iodine are present in Dead Sea Salt, including other minerals in a dried form, such as Magnesium, Sodium, Calcium and Potassium. All of these minerals work together as regulators of cell activity and daily functioning, relieving muscular pain and stabilizing fluid levels in the body.


Dendritic Salt

~ A very fine grain salt which resists caking and clumping.  



Finely Ground Oatmeal

~ Soothes and moisturizes the skin.  



Glycerin

~ A natural source ingredient with emollient-like properties which can soften and soothe the skin, and assist the outer epidermis to retain moisture.  


Grapefruit Seed Extract (in Vegetable Glycerin)

~ Is derived from the seeds and membrane portion of the grapefruit. It is reputed to have effective broad spectrum anti-microbial properties.  


Guar Gum

~  Is derived from the ground endosperm of the guar plant and is used as a thickener.  


Hemp Seed Oil

~ Can be used to nourish the skin and hair due to its high content of proteins and essential fatty acids. Closely matches our own skins lipids, which means the essential fatty acids are readily absorbed.  Said to play a preventative role in skin aging and a healthy moisture balance. Also said to have other skin benefits, such as offering relief to acne, minor abrasions, psoriasis and eczema.  


Honey Powder

~ Is a humectant, which has the ability to attract and retain moisture within the skin. 


Jojoba Oil

~ Closely resembles the sebum of the skin, and is rich in Vitamin E.  


Mango Butter

~ Has natural emollient properties, and is reputed to be useful for treating burns, stretch marks, scar reduction, wound healing and skin regeneration.  It is also great for softening, smoothing and moisturizing dry skin, is reputed to have a protective effect against UV radiation, and can be used to treat sunburns.


Olive Oil

~ Attracts external moisture and holds it to the skin, helping to prevent moisture loss.  


Polawax

~ A vegetable wax which is an effective emulsifier (keeps oil & water blended!)  


Rice Bran Oil

~ Is rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins and essential oils.  One of the best sources of tocotrienols, an antioxidant that may be much more powerful and effective than Vitamin E. A mild oil perfect for dry/flaky, sensitive, mature and/or delicate skin.  


Seaweed Powder

~ Is a rich source of vitamin B12 (not found in land plants), vitamin E, amino acids, minerals, trace elements, and other nutrients. When applied, seaweed acts as a powerful detoxifier which draws out toxins and impurities while adding beneficial nutrients, giving skin a healthy, revitalized and glowing appearance. Seaweed also contains fatty acids to combat skin irritation and inflammation; and may assist with skin ailments such as acne, psoriasis and eczema. Seaweed Powder is suitable for all skin types but should not be used by anyone with a sensitivity to iodine.


Sesame Seed Oil

~ Creates a barrier on the skin and contains fatty acids,  which include linoleic, palmitic, oleic and stearic acids, that can work to protect the skin, keeping it smooth and soft. It is also said to have  anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties.


Vitamin E

~ Is a natural preservative that helps sustain the shelf life of products. It also plays a crucial role in protecting skin cells and membranes from environmental damage.  


Zinc Oxide

~ Is a naturally occuring mineral which acts as a physical
barrier to the sun.  It also provides an effective moisture barrier and is a mild astringent with soothing effects.
